Samsung Electronics most advanced removable memory card has been released.  The Universal Flash Storage (UFS) was purposely composed for a higher resolution on mobile devices which include DSLRs, 3D VR cameras, action cams and drones. Samsung believes that they have changed the game with such a remarkable high def memory card like no other. “By launching our new high-capacity, high-performance UFS card line-up, we are changing the growth paradigm of the memory card market to prioritize performance and user convenience above all.” aid Jung-bae Lee, senior vice president, Memory Product Planning & Application Engineering, Samsung Electronics.

Not only will it retain such high quality production within its self but will allow it to be read just as fast. The UFS has the luxury of reading or downloading something worth 5 GBs in 10 seconds of speed. Appose to Its leading competitors that can only 95MB in a slow as 50 seconds such as the typical UHS-1 microSD card.

Jam packed with multi-tasking technology supported with command querying features which allows various reading and writing through different paths, doubling throughput. “When it comes to writing, the new 256GB UFS card processes 35,000 random IOPS, which is 350 times higher than the 100 IOPs of a typical microSD card, and attains a 170MB/s sequential write speed, almost doubling the top-end microSD card speed.” With such speed it increases the time for thumbnails loading, reduces buffering in boost shoot mode and reduces multimedia data download time all at the same time.

With Samsung’s UFS it is only the icing on the cake for their company’s success. Formally putting out their standard JEDEC in September 2013, followed by their first 128GB UFS chip January 2015 ending with their recent accomplishment. The UFS cards have been approved by the UFSA certified allowing it to use the UFS logo for the first time in company’s history.
